Mental Health Therapy for Children and Teens in Seattle, WA
Supporting young people (birth to 19) and their families through the challenges and joys of growing up. Sessions available in-person in the Eastlake neighborhood of Seattle and online throughout Washington State.
Hi, I’m Molly.
I’m a licensed therapist in Seattle, WA. I specialize in helping children and teens who struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, and overwhelming emotions to find comfort and peace in their own skin. Growing up can be tough, particularly if your child has experienced significant life changes, trauma, or is highly sensitive. Through therapy, your child can develop a greater sense of ease in who they are, learn skills to get through difficult moments, and feel empowered to face the ups and downs of life with confidence and hope.
Working with me may be a good fit if your child is facing any of these issues:
Anxiety:
Feels overwhelmed by worry or fear
Social withdrawal:
Avoids social situations, worries about being judged, struggles to connect with peers, and may even stop communicating with family members
Negative self-perception:
Feels down on themselves, thinks they are unlikeable, or worries that something is wrong with them
High sensitivity:
Is more affected by sensory experiences, emotions, or the world around them than others
Perfectionism:
Sets unrealistically high standards for themselves, feels anxious or defeated when they don’t meet them
Difficulty managing emotions:
Experiences emotional outbursts, shuts down, feels overwhelmed by emotions, or has a hard time calming down
Life transitions:
Major changes at home or school, such as:
Parents going through a divorce or separation
Change in family dynamics such as the blending of families or the arrival of a new sibling
Changing schools or moving to a new home
Loss of a friend, family member, or pet
As a parent, you may feel worried, frustrated, or discouraged because, despite your best efforts to help them, your child is still struggling. If any of this sounds like what you're going through, you're in the right place.
Therapy can help your child:
Boost confidence and self-esteem:
Help your child develop a strong sense of self-worth and confidence
Develop emotional regulation skills:
Learn how to recognize and manage emotions in a healthy way
Improve social skills:
Learn ways to handle social situations with less fear and more ease
Navigate life transitions:
Build resilience and find healthy ways to cope with big changes in their life
Identify and live by their values:
Help your child figure out what’s important to them, and how to embody the kind of person they want to be
Be creative:
Learn new ways to convey their feelings and identity through art, play, music, or other forms of creative expression
Embrace their uniqueness:
Learn to see the strengths in their unique traits and personality
I provide a compassionate, warm, and non-judgmental environment where your child can feel safe to express and move through emotions. With therapy, your child will begin to feel more confident, less anxious, and more capable of managing life’s challenges. And as a parent, you’ll feel more empowered to support your child’s growth and well-being at home.
